Timey-wimey bits...

Had a good evening. commodorified came over, and auriaephialia, and two Americans I hadn't met before. When I learned they were draft resisters, my respect and admiration increased. iclysdale came over too, and we feasted on pate, shrimp salad, green salad with tangerines (I think...?), hummus, baba ghanooj, and sourdough bread.

The Americans hadn't seen Doctor Who series 3, so we elected to show them "Blink", and then "Smith and Jones" - my choice, but I had a yen to see it, having not seen it for many months now. And I loved it as much as ever. It remains one of my favourite episodes of Doctor Who even though it has some of the aspects I usually don't like - like rhino-headed aliens and bizarre events. But. The episode is just so much fun. And Ten is so sexy. Did he really become less sexy and less fascinating as the season progressed? Did he really become more inner-directed? I'll have to sort out why I think that happened, and how, and when.

Meanwhile, I could still just sit back and thoroughly enjoy that episode: what a terrific introduction to Martha, whom I still adore.
