I spent years doing just that during undergrad. I had no inspiration to write at the time, but I thought about the story constantly.
I always say, my goal isn't necessarily publication. It would be nice, but even if it wasn't with Eden, Eden is the story I will always obsess about in my mind. It will always be the story w/ the characters that live in my mind. Kind of like a past life I can't forget. Like real memories.
That's all I really want out of writing. A lot of non-writers don't understand that. For them, it's all about getting published.
