"Much Ado About Nothing" is very adaptable to different settings - in the nicest way. "Hamlet" - not so much. I like it best done in medieval style (and yes, my love of the middle ages comes into play there), though I did like the look of the Richard Chamberlain version (Napoleonic) and the Branagh version (Victorian). Which I am revellingin, sartorial-wise. Do you know anywhere I can get screencaps of it?
I thought the costuming of "Much Ado About Nothing" was brilliant, some of the best I have ever seen, in that all the costumes seemed natural to the characters who wore them, and they ranged over styles of several centuries without anything looking anomalous or even anachronistic - giving the whole story a suitable timeless aura.
