Warren Ellis has been promoting his new weekly webcomic, yet to begin, FreakAngels. I really like the look of it, but I've never heard of the artist, Paul Duffield. Is he new to the field, or have I just not been paying attention?

Well, I don't always know the names of the British artists, anyway. Except the ones I've met. And that was long ago and the wench is forgetful.

He's pretty new -- he won Tokyopop's first Rising Stars of Mang UK & Ireland competition, with a story called "Falling Star". He's very good.

Oh, how cool! Thanks for letting me know. Yes, just from the sample bits, I think his work looks excellent. I found his website (http://spoonbard.com/) with some Googling. A lot of the links don't work - it looks like a very new site - but I thought this picture (http://www.spoonbard.com/css/image/topleft.gif) was particularly nice, with a touch of P. Craig Russell to the style.
