Re budgies: maaseru is babysitting a friend's two little budgies. They are silent. Silent. They hardly chirp. They never squawk or screech. Accustomed to my cheery, noisy little hellions as I am, I find this incredible. How can this be? Aren't quiet budgies a contradiction in terms? Are they feathery impostors from another species?
It may mean they're plotting something… You have been warned. ;-D
