kimsrants just told our subscription co-ordinator that she needed to return a phone call to someone named Harkness, who has a problem. I almost offered to make the call.

This, just after listing two kids in our Summer Drama Camp, whose surname is Barrowman.

Jack and commando squad? Like Sgt. Fury and his Howlin' Commandos was one of my favourite comics as a kid. Jack fits sooo nicely into that fantasy. And so many others.

I remember one year when I was into The Professionals fandom we had a Doyle and a Cowley on our theatre's subscription list. So I kept looking for a Bodie.

them "Harkness."
me "Hark...wait...Harkness?"
them "yes."

I think I would have then said, "Harkness, Jack, right?" and let the chips fall where they may.

It fills me with mild sorrow that the two Barrowman kids registered in our Summer Drama Camps are Catherine and Adam, not John.
