Another thought on Doctor Who: Utopia...
Jun. 23rd, 2007 08:43 amA detail I love is something that Captain Jack doesn't say to the Doctor. He's willing to say, and quite rightly, "You abandoned me."
What he doesn't say is, "You abandoned me right after I gave my life for you. You abandoned me right after I became the kind of hero you wanted me to be."
He doesn't need to say that, because the Doctor already knows only too well, and Martha doesn't need to know.

I am so very glad that the TV movie is noncanonical! What a relief! I'm sure I can enjoy it more, knowing I don't have to take it seriously. (Sandi gave me a DVD copy of it a few days ago.)
more about Jack and Torchwood
I loved that - and Jack's explanation of his Torchwood. Didn't I tell you he was doing it for the Doctor? Didn't I? Gad, I love Jack! That's subversion for you.
