Bloody Storm

Thou shalt not kill.

Jack raised his gun to execute the monster who had put a knife to Ianto's throat. Who treated Tosh, Owen, and Gwen as prey. Who killed for pleasure - not just the pleasure of eating human meat, but also the thrill of breaking the bonds of humanity, predator in the unlawful hunt.

"No." Gwen stopped Jack before he could pull the trigger. "I want to know why."

Why? Perversion. Because he could.

Jack wanted to kill. And because it was what he wanted, and unjustifiable, he put his gun away, defying the storm in his blood.

Very good.

I always loved that scene for the absolute ANGER in Jacks eyes. I've never seen him so happy/willing to slaughter someone.

Could've killed Gwen for interrupting it, cuz I wanted that bastard dead as well.

Yes. That makes an impression. Powerful acting on Barrowman's part.

I wonder how Owen, Tosh and Ianto felt about the subject.

Something tells me that out of the three of them, only Tosh would've protested the mans death. Probably saying something to the effect of 'It will only make us like him.'

Even in her roughed up state, I feel she'd be far to humane to ever let it happen.

I think of all of them, Toshiko is in general the most law-abiding and the most idealistic - I think she really does believe in laws and the social theories that make up civilization. Gwen believes in rule of law, but thinks with her heart and plays it by ear, half the time not even realizing it when she's transgressing. Owen couldn't care less. Ianto accepts Jack's judgement - right up to "End of Days", anyway.

But yes, Tosh is the one who is both humane and thoughtful.
