Eavesdropper

She wasn't a master of stealth, but she was cute. A gamin dressed up as a cop, dripping wet and curious. I noticed her before I was halfway through my oestrogen speech; tailored the last bit for her. The Torchwood crew ignored me, as usual.

Oh, yes, she fell into my trap, PC Gwen Cooper. Before morning, I knew all about her parents, her job, her boyfriend.

"Who is she?" Suzie asked.

"She's going to find Torchwood," I told her. "And we're going to let her."

"An alien connection? Or one of your strays?"

"One of my whims," I answered.
