This made me smile, the way that it plays to Jack's ego.
Of course it does - and he can show off a little, with his knowledge of Chula culture, which may not go much beyond what he says here, but he's good at faking it. If I'd had more than 100 words I would have explained that in quessing "class 2 or 3" warrior Jack was being outrageously flattering, knowing full well that someone that young would probably be a class 5 or 6, but flattered to be upgraded in rank. (Like wrongly guessing a person's age!) And that it's also flattering to be mistaken for a Maladrosian, because they are aristocratic and good looking.
The whole point being, Jack + cute eager alien = party time.
