Dec. 1st, 2006 11:40 amI don't suspect this is as much fun for others to read as it is for me to write. But that's okay. My fandom meme...
I'm keeping this to current fandoms or I'd be writing this all day.
Doctor Who
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Nine. Or maybe Ten - it was watching Ten that really hooked me on the show, but I fell so hard for Nine I think of him as coming first. Not sure if he really did.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Rose.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: I don't think there are any Doctor Who characters I don't love.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Really? Who in Doctor Who does everyone hate?
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Not applicable in the least.
6. The character I would shag anytime: The Doctor, Captain Jack.
7. The character I'd want to be like: The Doctor. Well, Jack too. And Rose. And Jake. Not Pete or Jackie.
8. The character I'd slap: Adam.
9. A pairing that I love: Doctor/Jack, or Doctor/Rose, or Doctor/Jack/Rose. I also kind of like Ricky/Jake or Mickey/Jake.
10. A pairing that I despise: Not applicable.

Torchwood
1. The first character I first fell in love with (before Torchwood ever started): Captain Jack Harkness.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Toshiko.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Owen.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Uh... the pterodactyl, maybe?
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Once I love a character, it's long-lasting.
6. The character I would shag anytime: Jack, Tosh, Gwen, Rhys.
7. The character I'd want to be like: Jack. Tosh. Gwen. Rhys. Yvonne. (Loved her!) I have the loveliest role models.
8. The character I'd slap: Owen.
9. A pairing that I love: Can I say Doctor/Jack again? Also Jack/Gwen, Jack/Anyone.... and I love the idea of Gwen/Tosh.
10. A pairing that I despise: Hrrm. I don't despise any Torchwood pairing, but some are more exciting than others. The thing about Torchwood is that you can, with plausibility, pair just about anyone with anyone.
I am so into the fannish love for Doctor Who and Torchwood that all other shows, however brilliant, fade in comparison. Though Veronica Mars is still a bright light in my week. Okay, carrying on here...

Veronica Mars
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Logan Echolls (and, before that, I was sort of half in love with Veronica... but I don't get schmoopy over her, she's too tough for that.)
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Logan Echolls, just because of the way he was introduced to us as the obligatory psychotic jackass, and the way he so convincingly filled the role. I love the way my view of him changed through first season - a radical turn-around. My love for Keith Mars is more than I ever expected as well.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Duncan Kane. Wallace too, to some extent, but in third season I'm finding him more interesting. Duncan was just... unappealing.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Er... maybe the cute dark-haired feminist leader and journalistin third season who hates Veronica and whose name I don't even remember?
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: I haven't stopped loving anyone. I seldom do. Maybe I should just take this question out of the meme.
6. The character I would shag anytime: Logan. Logan, Logan, Logan. I really envied Kendall Casablancas.
7. The character I'd want to be like: Veronica, without doubt.
8. The character I'd slap: Jackie, but she's long gone.
9. A pairing that I love: Veronica/Logan. Yes, I know, predictable, but it's one of my favourite het pairings ever.
10. A pairing that I despise: Veronica/Duncan, just because it conflicts with Veronica/Logan. And because I don't like Duncan. He was never good enough for her.

Heroes
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Peter. Mohindar. Not sure which came first.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Micah.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Nathan.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Isaak.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Niki. (hey! I came up with an answer this time!)
6. The character I would shag anytime: Peter.
7. The character I'd want to be like: Peter. I fear I'm already like Hiro, and yes, I love him too.
8. The character I'd slap: I'd never slap Niki. That would be scary. Jessica is ruthless.
9. A pairing that I love: None yet.
10. A pairing that I despise: None yet.

Battlestar Galactica
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Will Adama. Or Lee. One of them. Love them both.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Saul Tigh. An amazing character.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Laura Roslin.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Gaius Baltar.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: ...
6. The character I would shag anytime: What, I can only choose one? Impossible! Okay, then, Starbuck. Let me add Admiral Adama, Lee Adama, Anders, Boomer, Helo, Gaeta.
7. The character I'd want to be like: Will Adama.
8. The character I'd slap: Ellen Tigh. RIP.
9. A pairing that I love: Oh, trite but irresistible... Lee/Kara.
10. A pairing that I despise: Anyone with Roslin.

Smallville
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Lex Luthor.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: ... Not applicable.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Lois Lane.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Uh... Lionel Luthor, I guess.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Martha Kent.
6. The character I would shag anytime: Lex Luthor.
7. The character I'd want to be like: Chloe Sullivan (minus Jimmy Olsen)
8. The character I'd slap: Lana Lang.
9. A pairing that I love: Clark/Lex
10. A pairing that I despise: Clark/Lois

5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Rupert (after reading the books).
6. The character I would shag anytime: Michael, Antoinette.
7. The character I'd want to be like: Antoinette
8. The character I'd slap: Rupert.
9. A pairing that I love: Antoinette/Michael
10. A pairing that I despise: Sapt/Fritz, Flavia/either Rudolf.
12C Outremer
1. The first character I fell in love with: Conrad.

1. The first character I fell in love with: Baldwin II.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Aimery de Lusignan.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Raymond of Tripoli.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Reynald de Chatillon.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: not applicable.
6. The character I would shag anytime: There are a half-dozen contenders, if they match up to my imagination: Baldwin II or Fulk of Jerusalem, Aimery de Lusignan, Conrad de Montferrat.
7. The character I'd want to be like: Agnes de Courtenay
8. The character I'd slap: William, Archbishop of Tyre - for being such a brilliant historian and politician, and leading others astray in subtle ways! Or Graham Shelby and Ridley Scott and Sir Walter Scott and their ilk, for perpetuated infamies.
9. A pairing that I love: Aimery/Isabella, Estephanie of Oultrejourdain/Reynald de Chatillon
10. A pairing that I despise: None in particular, but it frustrates me that I don't have more information about some of those fascinating women.
Re: A couple of my fandoms: one fictional, one non-fictional
Date: 2006-12-02 11:48 am (UTC)4. Patriarch Eraclius, Agnes.
6. We'd just have to make sure our timetabling didn't clash over Conrad... ;-D
7. I agree about Agnes, but the fact that she dies in 1184 would be inconvenient for meeting certain people...!
8. Yes - the novelists I would wish to do more than slap. And among the chroniclers, the compiler of the Itinerarium and Roger of Howden are on my hit-list.
9. Eraclius/Paschia. I think it's cute that he interrupted an important meeting because he heard she'd had a daughter; and it's good that the church used to employ men who were interested in grown women...
Re: A couple of my fandoms: one fictional, one non-fictional
Date: 2006-12-02 01:06 pm (UTC)I'm sure we can make equitable arragements regarding Conrad.
Though I said Agnes for the person I'd want to be, I must confess, she was really my second choice. My first was Isabella. Then I thought: the deaths of all those husbands, and her only son as well, and the fall of her kingdom - such a tragic life, how could I choose that? But at the same time, she knew fascinating people (and married a couple of my favourites!), and I've always admired what I imagine to be her fortitude and spirit.
Re: A couple of my fandoms: one fictional, one non-fictional
Date: 2006-12-02 04:23 pm (UTC)It might also have been an idea to introduce the concept of 'life insurance' in 12C. She'd have cleaned up!
Her kingdom was doing OK by the time she died.
And I'm sure, after all the flak he gets from most people, Conrad won't mind at all about being doted on by more than one admiring female... He deserves to have lots of love and attention to bask in.

They play it at 5 p.m on tv, so I have to hurry after my work to catch it somehow. Unfortunatly my dvd-recorder is still a big mystery to me.

Date: 2006-12-03 04:45 pm (UTC)Yes. In the first episode of first season, we see that he landed in a small spaceship in a field in Kansas as a small toddler, and was adopted by the Kent family. He was always very strong, even as a young child, and the Kents taught him to keep this secret. In the first episode, the Kents tell Clark, now aged about 15, that he is from another planet - they had to tell him because he was discovering new powers, like super-speed.
My DVD recorder is a mystery to me, too. I must read the manual a little more.

By the third or fourth husband, I'm not sure anyone would be willing to insure her husbands any more.

Total agreement!

Good point. It's too dangerous a job.
Total agreement!
Poor love, I like to picture him on the couch, recuperating and getting lots of attention.
