Has Vanished vanished?

While exercising this morning I watched last week's episode of Vanished, with the intent of being up to date on the story in time to watch the new episode airing tonight. So having watched it, I tried to set my recorder for tonight's episode, and I was completely unable to find an episode scheduled for tonight. I thought it was channel 36 at 8 pm. So - where'd it go?

The website says they are streaming unaired episodes, but Canadians don't get to see them. Faugh. Is the show cancelled, then? Does this mean those episodes aren't going to be aired on TV? Yes, I seem from "TV.com" that it has been. Well. Too bad. I'm not passionate about it but I've been enjoying the story.

I thought the Award for the Stupidest Character of the Week should go to Marcy Collins for going, without telling anyone, to the Senator who impregnated her and who was probably behind Sarah's kidnapping, to blackmail and threaten him. Is she even going to be alive next episode?

The stuff about the Dead Sea Scrolls made me think of The Da Vinci Code. Do Opus Dei renegades have tattooed wrists?

Funny: I don't like Gale Harold and thought I'd have trouble with the show because of him. But I came to like Special Agent Graham Kelton very much indeed and it's just not the same without him. As for Special Agent Daniel Lucas - he's pretty but doesn't seem to have the character or the charisma of Kelton.

Lin Mei, however, I like a lot. I wish they'd highlight her role more.

The scenes of Sarah Collins imprisoned squicked me a little this time. Not badly, but I realize I don't like extended-imprisonment scenes. Oz was okay because the prison was a community. I was uncomfortable, even distressed, seeing Sawyer and Kate in their cages in Lost, and Jack in his odd prison-room. Seeing Sarah Collins locked up and abused with mind-control techniques, and especially their attempts to make her think her husband didn't love her and wasn't looking for her - that was hard. But I did think he was crazy to let his ex-wife stay in the house.

To my knowledge it has not been cancelled (yet), but instead has been put on haitus until the beginning of December.

Im not sure exactly what the deal is, but apparently it wont be on TV anymore. Sorry. :(

Sigh. Well, I can understand cancelling a show: but to make the unaired episodes available only to people in the U.S. - when it was being aired in Canada too - is downright nasty!

It's okay, though. Your pretty icon will console me for anything short of nuclear holocaust and the plague.
