I got this from [livejournal.com profile] kikibug13.

The results are actually not true. I feel no connection with the High Priestess, who is too esoteric and too religious a symbol for me. Perhaps the test gravitated that way because I chose the moon as my favourite heavenly body - which is really a moot point, I don't have a heavenly body, or if I do, it would be a star, which was not one of the options here.

No: the tarot card which I believe represents me is the Queen of Swords; but this quiz used only the Major Arcana. Of the Major Arcana, I would be the Magician. The High Priestess is irrelevant.

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

And in case you haven't noticed, I find the symbols of Tarot fascinating. I like doing Tarot readings, usually using the Hanson-Roberts deck. I do highly intuitive readings, and enjoy it very much.... Though I never do readings for myself.

Huh. I just did another online Tarot test and still got the result that I am the High Priestess. Faugh! I deny it. Another... Well, at least this time I wasn't the High Priestess. It's worse - the Heirophant. What's this with connecting me to hierarchical religious figures? I am neither hierarchical nor religious. If I'm to be a mystic figure, it could at least be the Hermit, which doesn't represent authority.

Another Tarot game I like is to assign characters from a fandom to the different cards. For instance, Lymond as Magician with Philippa as Empress - or High Priestess? Possibly the latter.

In Doctor Who fandom it would be trickier, I think, but that maybe just makes it more fun. Rose, as the viewpoint character, would be the Fool, I think, the person making the Hero's Journey. The TARDIS could be the Chariot - but what would the Doctor be? Death, because he's transformative? The Tower, because he is accompanied by disaster? The Star, because he brings enlightenment and love? The Wheel of Fortune, because he's mercurial and you never know what will happen? The Emperor, because he always prevails? He could be any one of the cards....

did you see my result? I got the Tower

Cool! Do you relate to it? I like the way they describe it as " war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth", which seems to me very like you - being into philosophy and the study of truth, subject to reversals and upheavels, and shocking revelations.

it is funny that you see it in light of my styudy of philosophy. Yes. I can see that. Personally I was linking it with bipolar, going trough times of upheaval and shaking up the ground. Destruction and rebuilding, it is a common theme. When, on an other forum, I once told that I have been possesed by the godess Kali someone said she could see me and her being drawn to one and other, crazyness, destructing, rebeuilding and healing. Maybe not the same as the Tower, but similarities none the less. Not a calm symbol anyway.

It fits with the bipolar condition too, yes, good days and bad days, ups and downs. I think it might be fair to say that Kali in many ways has the same symbolic function of the Tower. My Hindu deity of choice is Shiva - who is less of a contrast and polarity and more of an amalgamation of opposite forces. I find him calm but in a rather forceful, dramatic way.

But then, my Magician and Queen of Swords tarot cards are not calm either. Perhaps I am becoming less calm as a I age, less accepting and passive, more into action. Hmm.

I am rather calm actionwise. Mostly.
I am now bound by chemical means, more calm than I want on the one hand and still less calm than I strive for. Still need to figure soo much out.

I think I am reasonably calm in life. I tend to think of myself as a sort of mellow, low-key person, but I don't entirely want to be so, since I value passion and chaos - and don't much like routine.

A factor that keeps me calm emotionally is that I tend to have delayed reactions when it comes to sudden, strong emotions - it doesn't register emotionally till long after the event. I have been known to lose my temper - but not often.

I guess I need to find that satisfactory balance between calmness and adventure.

Unsurprisingly, we are the same again!
I would choose her if I were restricted to Greater Trumps; otherwise Queen of Swords.

Perhaps I should just stop complaining and accept my destiny?

I can see that the Queen of Swords and the High Priestess might be sort-of almost equivalents, and it's really only a few differences in the symbolism that I am quibbling about.

One could, in fact, twist the mind enough to see the High Priestess as a kind of Magician.

I think the interpretations can be fairly fluid. To me, Tarot is simply another kind of symbolic vocabulary to express concepts.

She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you
sounds about right for a research historian!

I chose Uma Thurman as my "heavenly body". Planets don't really interest me.

Greaty. I'm spooky
you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.</>
Yep. Definitely right.

Woo - nice picture! Creativity and psychic powers sound like good things. Do you relate? How's your intuition?

Spooky can be good! At least it sounds as if life isn't dull.

I think the interpretations can be fairly fluid.

I think they have to be, to have any meaning at all. (Which is, of course, whatever meaning we try to give them.) Yes, it's all symbolic vocabulary, letting me play with visual and ideological concepts. When I do a Tarot readings, it's like reading something that's half a poem, half a comic book. Highly subjective.

Grumble - only too right, with that "might not reveal" bit.

I chose Uma Thurman the second time round, because planets don't interest me either. And I still came out as the High Priestess.

Usually tests of this nature ask for your birthdate and derive the answer numerologically.

Fair enough; but I still don't feel like the High Priestess, however it is derived!

I reckon it's quite a good card for me.
The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry.</>
Yep. I'm defintiely a genius. :)
The sleep thing, I've always had very vivid strange dreams. I sleep talk and sleep walk and regualarly wake myself up with night terrors so I agree with the sleep thing.
I also consider myself to be quite intuitive so I think this is a good card for me.

Yes, that sounds nicely suitable.
