1) If you had to move 100 miles or more to the north, east, west, or south, which would you choose, where would you end up, and what's so great about there?
Durham, England. Because of its beauty.
2) Do you have a favorite stretch of highway or byway for driving, touring, or wandering?
I don't like highways. I'd rather walk than drive. For touring or wandering, my favourite byway is the coastal path along the south coast of Cornwall. Actually, I think it goes all the way to Kent - I walked a similar path between Dover and Deal.
3) Are you happier to start a trip or return home?
Heading out. Very exciting.
4) Plane, train, automobile, bicycle, or foot?
Foot, as much as possible. The slower you travel, the more you see.
5) Do you overplan or underplan your travels?
Underplan. Usually.

Date: 2006-11-10 06:56 pm (UTC)1. St Andrews. It remains my real home.
2. I love the bus route through Fife to St As.
3. Depends what you mean by 'home'. I'm currently marooned in Glasgow, and much as I love my flat, it's not home.
4. I walk as much as possible in Glasgow, or use the metro. Elsewhere, bus or train.
5. Usually get it just right.
Outside the UK:
1. Asti, in the Monferrato, Italy. Obviously.
2. The road winding up the hill to Moncalvo (with Roberto driving!).
3. Setting out.
4. Walking, or friends' car.
5. Just right.
