We are currently gearing up to local elections. The CBC reports an odd example of dirty politics in Ottawa - a rather odd happenstance where it seems anti-gay troublemakers are trying to drag the issue of the leading mayoral candidate's sexual orientation into the limelight in a rather nasty way.

Weirdness.

Quite frankly, I couldn't care less. I'm more interested in their views on the environment -- Munter scored high, but "Mayor Bob" got a failing grade (from a group whose name I'm blanking on -- sigh).

I think you should care that there's fraudulent information going out! This is dirty politics - not a smear campaign about Munter being gay, but a smear campaign against gays that is supposed to be on his behalf. That's pretty nasty.

I'm interested in views on the environment too, and I'm not hearing much about it.

I suppose there are other dirty and illegal games being played in politics but I find this unusually annoying because it's meant to generate homophobia.

I suppose. And that's a puzzler for me. I am very in favour of LRT but not necessarily of the current plan.
