[livejournal.com profile] commodorified came over and we watched Torchwood episode 4, Cyberwoman. It was, if anything, more intense and frightening the second time round. Heartbreaking. I loved it.

Then we needed unstressing, so I offered to show her the Doctor Who episode Fear Her. She'd never seen it - she'd only seen season 2 as far as Love and Monsters - and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it again. I found myself anticipating the good lines, of which my favourite is probably "the hairs are standing up on the back of my manly, hairy hand". And the cat in the box. And I love it whenever we see Nina Sosanya onscreen. She plays Trish.

I have a huge crush on Nina Sosanya. She was also in Casanova, though I haven't seen any of her other movies. I'd like to. I'd particularly like to see her in Much Ado About Nothing.

No, I'm wrong, I see she was in Love, Actually. Must see that again.

Then we were enjoying ourselves enough to continue on to Army of Ghosts, and with a little arm-twisting I persuaded [livejournal.com profile] commodorified to stay for Doomsday too because I think it's just plain wrong to stop at the end of Army of Ghosts if you don't have to. I loved both as much as always, though this was the first time I really noticed the Torchwood music.

I wonder what Captain Jack was doing when the Battle of Canary Wharf was going on.

I have a crush on her too - I loved her in Casanova - I so preferred her character to the woman he was pining for.

They should cast her in TW and put her and Jack together as lovers - it would be rawrrrrr!

You too? Oh my goodness, yes! Casanova was an idiot to let Bellino go.

Yes...

and are cool

Aww (blush) - thank you.

Captain Jack is awesome

He defines awesomeness. He is so awesome it takes my breath away. (Or maybe that's the sexiness. Whatever. Gwen Cooper isn't sure which it is either.)

If I lost my Internet I'd miss it dreadfully.

Cyberwoman. God. Left me shaking. Made me want to hug Ianto despite his betrayal. He kinda puts love above anything else - even if he refuses to see the writing on the wall, so to say, even if he sets the whole world in danger - I feel so sorry for him! I even felt I could slap Jack! Boy, I know, and I understand your anger, but could you PLEASE be a little more HUMAN here? I guess Gwen was not around long enough yet... but Jack made up then when he revived Ianto.
And I can't stop thinking that in the end Ianto was ready to kill "Lisa" - a few more seconds and he would have done it. And my strong feeling is that the others shot first to spare him that - that for all he's been through he did not have to add the kill-your-girlfriend-yourself thing. They may have discussed that upstairs during his 10 minutes. And I think Ianto kind of understood and appreciated that, otherwise he wouldn't have stayed. Just my two cents...
Plus: Pterodactyl! What did they call her - Myfawny or something? Cute! Well... kind of.:-)

Cyberwoman. God. Left me shaking.

I totally love this episode. All that passion between Jack and Ianto - and Ianto and Lisa - and the trust issues.

He kinda puts love above anything else - even if he refuses to see the writing on the wall, so to say, even if he sets the whole world in danger

Ianto was wrong, but he was so dedicated to his love and so determined that there was a nobility to it. And I think Jack respected that, too, and understood, but that didn't change the situation. He was trying to make Ianto see the reality but all Ianto could see was his love - and the personal stakes.

I think Ianto will go to any lenghts to do what he sees as the right thing.

And yes, Jack's revival of Ianto was nice. I never doubted that Jack loved Ianto all through this - he was just trying at all costs to make Ianto understand.

Yes, I agree that the others shot Lisa to spare Ianto from having to do it. Painful for him anyway.

They've never given the pterodactyl a name in the show but apparently the cast and crew call her Myfanway. I don't care what they call her - I just wish we saw her more! I was so glad when she came for a brief flyby in "Meat".
