So now they're planning a Doctor who movie. Sneaky devils.

My first reaction was: uh-oh. Maybe because I think of the events of "Doomsday" as a closed book, I don't want a sequel. But... they wouldn't necessarily do a post-Doomsday story, they could just to another story with the Doctor and Rose, slated in anywhere chronologically. If they can keep up the quality, if Russell T. Davies and his good judgement stands behind it - it could be wonderful.

Or do I fear it'll be something that doesn't quite live up to the series, like Serenity compared to Firefly, or teh X-Men movies compared to the X-Men comics? Do I fear it will be hokey? And not the clever, self-sustaining style of the New Doctor Who, but something different and worse? Why am I being pessimistic about this? Because I don't want something so almost-perfect to be changed?

Hey, whatever it is, it's going to be more of David Tennant as the Doctor than we'd otherwise have, and that's a good thing, right?

Of course, the movie of my dreams would feature Nine, Rose, and Jack, and it would star Christopher Eccleston. They aren't going to make it, so it will remain the movie of my imagination.
