Post prandium...
Sep. 9th, 2006 10:46 pmWhen Beulah came to pick me up and drive me to dinner she found me with several book-shelves worth of books spread across my living room floor. I am trying/hoping to get my books back into alphabetical order by author. And to inventory them. Heck, it's fun to just look at them.
It is mildly alarming how many books I have - previous to me, every one - that I haven't actually read. Multiple copies of Dunnett and Tolkien, of course.
Then we went to Don Alfonso, the restaurant on the NW corner of Bank and Gladstone. When I was talking to Sandi and Beulah earlier, neither could remember what the restaurant looked like, though they could remember the rest of that corner. I go by there so often on foot - it's only a couple of blocks south of the Silver Snail comic shop - it was more familiar to me than most of Bank Street.
Anyway, the meal for Tasia's birthday was terrific. There were twelve of us all together. (Tasia and Peter, Jennifer and Richard, Pat, Sandi, Beulah, Andrea, me, John, Donna, and Janet.) I had the calamari appetizer, followed by rabbit rojianas - hoping I'm remembering the name correctly; it was roast rabbit with an incredibly delicious glaze, possibly the most delicious meal I've had in years. Desert was Diplomat Pudding - a flan with brandy sauce - and cappucino.
A wonderful time was had by all, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to eat again.
