I went for a walk early, before it was too hot, to return library books at the Sunnyside branch. When I got home, Yolande,
maaseru and
maaboroshi were ready to go out for breakfast, so we all went to
Stoneface Dolly's on Bronson Ave. This was an odd serendipity that I didn't mention to them, since Pat and her friends had gone to the other Stoneface Dolly's on Preston Street for dinner on Friday, and told us about it, and I'd been wanting to go to either location - I'd never been. And I'm glad I did - the food was amazing. I had "Eggs Blackstone", which was like Eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham; and they let me have a half serving of fruit and salad instead of choosing between those things. Definitely a great place, with interesting stained glass art and personable (pretty) staff.
Now, one fandom leads to another, and I'd been watching the
Doctor Who episode "Rose" which aired on CBC last week. Because of the "department store dummies", it reminded me of the episode of
The Professionals that features a lot of naked mannequins, "Spy Probe". I had a real hankering to watch that episode again.
So, over supper, Yolande,
maaseru and
maaboroshi were saying how we didn't have any fandom in common any more. I said "What about
The Professionals?" and everyone perked up and agreed that watching some
Pros was just the thing. We watched
Spy Probe, as good as I rememebered, and then
No Stone, marvelling at the infant Michael Praed.
