Toronto the beautiful...
Jun. 4th, 2006 02:13 pmI am sitting in Marilyn's beautiful compuer room/library with the sunlight streaming through the window; we're about to go for a walk by Lake Ontario.
I was not so lucky with the weather yesterday. I believe that eery time I have ever been to Toronto, it has rained somewhere along the route, but is usually dry enough to visit Toronto in relative comfort. Now yesterday. It was raining when I left Ottawa at 6 a.m.; it was raining when I got to Toronto; it rained all day as I dodged from bookstore to bookstore, and from one visit to another.
Lat night I sat talking to Marilyn about trips we have taken to Dunnett locals. She was in Edinburgh in April to see the laying of the stone to Dorothy Dunnett in Makar's Court, Edinburgh, and I saw her photos. I hope she puts them up in Flickr. She had pictures of Threave and Crawford Castle and a town called Coulter; and we compared pictures of Malta. I had last seen Marilyn at the 2,000 year old temple of Hagar Qim, overlooking the Mediterranean; now, six months later, in urban Toronto.
Had a great time yesterday talking to Mark, who had recently visited Frank Miller on the set of 300. He said: "The cast is one hundred of the most beautiful men in Hollywood. You'll love it." I suspect so!
