Stuff...

1. I had another minor miracle today. The Adult Intermediate Drama classes were due to start tomorrow; I was in charge of taking registration. We are not supposed to hold the classes unless there are 6 students at least. We had a registration of five. I stalled on cancelling the clas. I made up all sorts of excuses. I said I thought we'd get a last-minute registration and it would be such a shame to disappoint those five people who paid good money for a class they were looking forward to.
   
   And guess what? At fifteen minutes to five - just before it was time to leave work - I got a phone call registering a sixth person.
   
   I feel so... vindicated.



2. StarWolf phoned me to say he was reading Essential Daredevil, which reprints the Frank Miller Daredevil - which just happens to be one of my favourite batch of comic books ever. 'Wolf asked if I'd bought it and I said no, as far as I knew, I had all the original comics and didn't need the reprints.
   
   Well, he said, making the suspense build up, there was a really good introduction in it by Diana Schutz. I agreed that she was a good editor, a good writer, a good commentator and essayist about comics, and I cited a few of her credits.
   
   "Yes," he said. "She talks about how the Frank Miller Daredevil attracted a number of female readers, like the Claremont X-Men did." Pause. "Then she mentions your name."
   
   Cool! I wonder who else she mentions. Now I have to look!
   
   'Wolf also thought I'd like DC's 52. I'd been considering reading it... out of curiosity.



3. Damn, I love the book I'm currently reading. Keeper by Greg Rucka. I'll no doubt enthuse about it later.



4. A story of mine has been translated into Chinese. I got a nice letter asking for permission to translate, I gave it, and lo and behold, there I am, all translated and international. It's a slashfic based on the movie Alexander, called Earthquake, and the Chinese site is here, at this site.
   
   I wish I could read Chinese.

Yes - that was so exciting. I've had my stories translated into French in the past, but never anything so exotic and far-away as Chinese.
