My Luthor love...
Jan. 11th, 2006 02:27 pmI got this from
acampbell and received the same result she did - not surprisingly, since the answers were easy:

Congrats! So you do know a lot about the Luthors. You
know that Lucas wasn't killed, Lillian didn't
kill herself, Jullian was killed, and that Lex
and Lionel are a couple of really bad boys!
So... I guess you've seen all the episodes (or
at least most of season 3) and love or at least
like the Luthors. Because if you didn't then
why do you remeber all this stuff? So the
bottom line is you answered most (or all) of
the questions right. You deserve a big hug from
the Luthors. If you do get that hug... can you
give me their number?
What do you know about the Luthors (Smallville)?

Date: 2006-01-16 03:18 pm (UTC)btw, linguistic data are samples of language usage. In my case, sentences with slight variations in phrasing.
To take this quiz, for example - to my mind replying to questions with 'true' or false' is ungrammatical. 'True' and 'false' can only apply to statements. However, this quiz provides empirical evidence that such usage exists. As a good linguist, I'd check speakers' views on the matter to make sure that my intuition is in fact shared. (Of course, linguists of other schools would just stipulate their choice of a rule and try to impose its use.)

Agreed. I wondered if the writer's native language was one in which the words for 'true' and 'false' are the same as 'yes' and 'no', if such a language exists.
Great icon.

I'm sure there are such languages, or at least ones in which these words would require the same sentence structure. Unfortunately, it's more likely to be a less than careful native English speaker.
Thanks on the icon. Adam

And I concur that Adam is extremely talanted. :)
