Years ago, probably during the first season of Smallville, I found a "Michael Rosenbaum man jongg" game online and downloaded it. I loved it. I played it over and over and over. Each tile had a picture of Rosenbaum on it. Most were pictures of Lex, some of the actor, some of other roles.

That was at least one hard drive crash ago, and now I would like to find the game again. Does it still exist anywhere? Does anyone have it? Any suggestions?

I Googled it for you and came up with a post from 2003 by another LJ user mentioning the game (the only other result besides your two LJ mentions, unfortunately). I replied to the post and asked her if she still had the game and would be willing to send it, so we'll see if she replies. If not, I'll try again, leaving a comment to a current post by her. Apparently, she's in Sweden.

Oh, my! I used to play that all the time. I know there is a link on my desktop - when I crank it up tomorrow I'll forward you the URL, and hopefully it'll still be there!

Oh, thank you so much for the trouble you took! I really appreciate it. I hope the Swedish fan still has it. If not... well, I have happy memories of playing it in the past, and then just have to find another good fannish version of mah jongg somewhere. I loved that one so much!

I have it on my computer, which, alas is in the repair shop right now. But if links don't work, I can zip it to you next week.

That would be wonderful! Thank you!

I hope your computer comes home safely soon. I always hate having mine away for repairs - it makes me fret.

Hehe, well the hard drive had crashed, so I'm not too worried about it coming home more damaged than it was lol

I am, however, hella bored and pissed off at this ancient computer I have to use right now!

The better our computers get, the worse the old ones seem. I hate using the slow ones now.

Too bad hard drives aren't immortal!

Seriously. Damn those moving parts.

Luckily I had most of it backed up, but it turns out it's recoverable too. So that's good.

Well, that's half the battle. So once you get it back there'll be no harm done - it's just a matter of being patient till it returns.

Unfortunately, my lead didn't pan out -- the Swedish fan no longer had the game (had a msg from her this morning) -- but I'm delighted to see that you got some other avenues to obtain it. Hurray! Have fun!

I haven't been able to get the link I got to work, but hopefully one of my sources will come through. Thanks again for trying.

Oh, I hope so, too. Ack-- nothing worse than having a hope of getting something you want, then watching it get snatched away. My fingers are crossed for you!

I think I've gotten the link to work, but I'm not sure the email address I have for you is correct. So we'll see. I'm going to try to send it now (about 2:00 p.m. your time).

I did find a perfectly good Mah Jongg game which I am playing from time to time with great happiness. But it isn't the same as tiles with Michael Rosenbaum's face - and there's a frustration too, to having once had it, and having it no longer! Thanks for the crossed fingers - mine too - we shall see.

I sent you the game (zipped) earlier today (I was able to access the site). Did you get it? Does it work? (I didn't unzip it and try it out, I confess. Now, if it had Blair Sandburg on it, maybe. ;-)

Update: I downloaded three of the mah jongg zip file games, and from what I can figure (never having played mah jongg), none of these work. The "index" file opens up a browser page upon which a little tile appears, but no other pictures appear and absolutely no mouse commands produce any kind of movement, so I'm assuming something vital is missing from all of these downloads. I don't *think* it's the fact that much of the html code is in German, or is it? -- would that make a difference?

I don't know what makes the difference, but I had the same results as you did. I don't see an .exe file to actually run the thing. I'll keep fiddling with it.
