Lovely day...
Mar. 27th, 2005 11:32 pmSpent part of the day reading The Leper King and his Heirs by Bernard Hamilton. I can't help thinking it's the book I would have written if I'd continued as an academic. I wish! Fascinating; so far I agree with his every word. When I was writing my thesis (on a related topic), none of the books agreed with my interpretation of these characters and events. And Hamilton supports my ideas! Hooray! Okay, they're his ideas now.... I'm just so glad to have a scholar think the things I was thinking.
Nice day: wrote my Apaplexy zine and then went to Lisa's place for supper, where Blanche and her husband Greg joined us. Blanche and I had been friends for decades, then fell out of touch in the last few years.... I hope we can keep in touch. She hasn't changed at all, and was looking terrific. Her husband, whom I'd never met before, is a sweetheart, and they look happy. This is nice to see. She deserves it.
