From Bastille Day to Flesh and Bone...
Jan. 2nd, 2005 11:01 pmI watched six episodes of Battlestar Galactica today. New version. I'd watch the last episode too if I wasn't so tired.
Damn, that show is good.
I like: Apollo, Starbuck, Adama, Number Six (and Gaius as he relates to her), the dialogue, the Cylon ship that Starbuck took, the ongoing mystery of the Cylon plan (and speculation as to the Cylon agenda or agendas), the twisty Cylon minds, the adventures of HELO and fake-Boomer on Caprica, and the whole game of who know what about what and how.
Favourite episode: "You Can't Go Home Again". I cried. It reminded me of some good bits of Lois McMaster Buold.
Things I didn't like: too many episodes without Apollo.
I know this is an American show, but it often doesn't feel like one.
Otherwise today: It was stormy all day, difficult to get around, though I went for an interesting walk in the ice and snow. I met Anne for coffee at Bridgehead - a person I'd only met online. We talked about books - Dunnett of course, but other good reading, mostly fantasy. Ran into Emily from the yoga school there.
Did a lot of housework, made kale soup, studied ancient Greek - but still feel I'm falling behind my own schedule.
