I just had a lesson on how to use the Espresso machine at work - it's very
like Maaseru's Keurig coffee machine, but they're all a little bit
different.

Cappucino at work. How luxurious.

Little Pseudo-Jamie was on the bus again today. I think I notice him
because he is so well-behaved. (Have I just jinxed it? Will he be
throwing tantrums tomirrow?) Also the little girl with Wile E. Coyote
boots.

It's like having a cast of characters.

A review of former comic book superstar Todd McFarlane's Spider-Man graphic
novel "Masques" on the Ottawa Public Library website begins: "Todd
Mcfarlane can't wright." I chortled.

Mind you, it's true. Many comic book artists think they can write (because
writing is a lot easier than drawing, right?) and then prove they can't
write by producing beautifully drawn nonsense. Or, sometimes, badly-drawn
nonsense.

Mind you, I haven't read "Masques" so can't judge there.

But this reviewer (who, if I dare say so, can't wright), goes on to say
Todd McFarlane can't draw. I disagree. He's a bad anatomist, and his work
sometimes looks rushe and sloppy, but his work has energy, cohesion and
verve. It looks good even when it isn't.

And it's something of a historical artifact, the comics of the 1990s,
which was a wild time for comics and their creators.
