I was walking along Third Avenue, which today is a wasteland of puddles and melting icy snowbanks. An SUV went by through a puddle, creating a tidal wave that I, trapped by snowbanks, could not avoid. Luckily my pretty Turkish handbag shielded me from the worst of it.
But then something extraordinary happened. The woman driving the vehicle stopped so she could apologize to me. Profusely.
That was so nice of her. So courteous, by even Canadian standards.
