I just got back from the gym - they've just started opening on Sunday mornings. Good show of support in terms of people being there, too.

It's a grey and rainy day. January thaw for sure. Some of the falling icicles were scary... making loud, thundering noises. In fact, part of the sidewalk on Bank Street is cordoned off because of a huge chunk of ice on a roof, just poised to fall.

Nice walking, since the sidewalks are almost clear of ice, and the ice that is there is visible. The glacier of Third Avenue is retreating, and there's enough clear pavement now for a lane of traffic.

Wet, though. Very wet.

Read and enjoyed The Horse Boy by Rupert Isaacson.

Rupert Isaacson was a horse trainer, married to a psychologist. They had a son named Rowan who, at the age of four, was identified as severely autistic. But he loved animals in general, and one horse in particular; and his father had a dream of taking him across Mongolia on horseback to be healed by shamans.

So he did it.

And it worked, at least to an extent that made all the difference to the boy's quality of life.

I read this because of my interest in autism, but really, it was more like reading a travellogue with a special case scenario. Fascinating.
