Fannish Night, and Doctor Who...
Nov. 13th, 2012 11:32 pmFor our fannish night entertainment, we watched the most recent two episodes of Doctor Who, "The Power of Three" and "The Angels Take Manhattan".
Now, I have recently been grumbling that I (a) don't much like the stories or the writing with Steven Moffat in charge of the show, and (b) don't much like Eleven. Matt Smith. I've tried, I've really tried, and I find that I just find his mannerisms more and more irritating the more I watch. I've given up. It's a no-go. River song is iffy for me too, but not the same sort of problem.
That being said, I really liked these episodes. They were entertaining. They were fun. They had some great lines, some great mood-setting, and some great photography. They also had the sense of danger mixed with playfulness that is the hallmark of the show at its best.

( So this is... )
Am I looking forward to the Christmas special? Maybe. I liked the girl who played Oswin in "Asylum of the Daleks". I keep hoping that this time I might like Eleven better. Not likely now, but... maybe it will be fun anyway.
