I have been slowly but surely going through the process of decluttering my apartment. Sometimes I think I'm getting nowhere; other days, it feels like great strides.
Getting the bedroom licked into shape seemed an elusive goal for a long time. A week ago I got rid of a bookcase, moved the bed, plundered the wardrobe and - by gum, it's done. That was a real mood-lifter.
So: Kitchen done, living room done, bedroom done, and there isn't much I can think of to do in the bathroom. Just a little fine tuning, maybe. It still has the Ninth Doctor, the Tenth Doctor, Peter Wingfield and art from The Game of Thrones on the wall; it feels like a long time since I've really had a new fandom. I mean, Avengers isn't new: I've been an Avengers fan since I was about ten; though in those days I couldn't afford many comics, and mostly stuck to Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man and Journey Into Mystery. X-Men and Daredevil came later.
So. Avengers: not new, but refreshed.
Like my apartment. A couple of days ago I realized there was a terrific mess in the hallway beside the kitchen door. A bookcase in which I kept books, magazines, fanzines, comics, greeting cards, gloves and scarves, and cookbooks. I attacked it today; and now it's beautiful. Everything neatly boxed in magazine boxes, or in its own container. It looks organized. It is organized.
Next step: well, there are always refinements. My desk area? That's the next place to attack.
