The Lone Gunmen...
Apr. 22nd, 2012 09:23 pmWent this afternoon to a Lone Gunmen video-party at Tasia's place.
Had a lovely time, but I was disappointed in the show. I remembered the Lone Gunmen as characters from X-Files, and thought they were cool, back when everything about X-Files was cool.
But this wasn't like X-Files, and not just because there was no Fox Mulder. First, it was comedy: and I just don't like comedy. Second, the stories were about crimes - no alien abductions, no weird creatures. No lurking in dark places with flashlights.
And mainly, I just don't like shows in which the heroes are played for laughs.
There was, I suppose, a third problem with the show: in every episode we saw, and we watched four, we were able to anticipate what was about to happen and how the show would end pretty much from the beginning.
Two good things about it: in the Pilot, there's a story about a plot to fly a plane into the Twin Towers in New York - and the episode aired six months before this actually happened.
The other good thing: there was an episode about tango dancing. I like tango music.
