Theft in the comics art world...

Walking Dead co-creator Tony Moore made an announcement on his Twitter account that five pages from his upcoming Venom #1 have been stolen in transit to the inker. He asks that art dealers and collectors keep an eye out for them.

Reportedly the box had been tampered with upon arrival with the pages missing and others damaged. Production can continue because he made hi-resolution scans but the whole situation still sucks.

This strikes me as both shocking and amazing. Then I started thinking about Neal Caffrey. Does Peter Burke know about this?

It reminds me that, long ago, Gene Day had art for Master of Kung Fu go astray, and ended up inking copies. Since they weren't worth what the originals were worth, he let me have pages for a pittance. I treasure them. Or course, I'd already bought some of his 'real' art; and commissioned pieces, too.

But that case, as far as I know, wasn't theft, just mischance.

Thursday...

Lunch at Panda Garden again; for the second week in a row, they didn't have steamed squid. I begin to fear they'll never have it again.

The nutritionist talked to us about protein sources that aren't meat or dairy products. maaseru liked this, since she's not enjoying meat these days. We went to the Natural Food Pantry on Hazeldean Road and bought beans, teff, and other such foods.

Lisa and Lynne came over in the evening. Good talk.
