  • Watched Victor, Victoria with [personal profile] fairestcat. I have strong memories of my first viewing of that movie, with people I loved very much indeed. I remembered enjoying it, but with reservations - though I'd forgotten why. What I loved? Julie Andrews and Robert Preston, whom I also love from The Sound of Music and The Music Man. What I didn't love? James Garner - neither the actor nor the character he plays, who isn't good enough for Victoria. Still. It's a good-hearted movie, and [personal profile] fairestcat and I agreed that the best thing of all is that King Marchand kisses Victoria when hedoesn't know her gender. And Lesley Ann Warren is very funny.

  • Watched the first episode of Fringe again, then in the evening, with [livejournal.com profile] maaseru and [livejournal.com profile] explodedteabag, episode 2x17, "Olivia, in the lab, with a revolver". I like Weiss in that one. I wonder how seriously to take his self-description - older than he appears. Hmm.

  • I really want to write a piece about Jasika Nicole, whom I researched a little today. If I had two hands, I'd've done it. One of these days...

  • I went to Costco with [livejournal.com profile] maaseru and [livejournal.com profile] explodedteabag, because [livejournal.com profile] explodedteabag wanted food. I had one of their hamburgers for supper - it was good. Coveted a bookcase and sofa and might have bought both if I had two working arms and the ability to rearrange furniture.

In an episode of Fringe, Walter refers to a Richard Nixon silver dollar as 'disturbing'. Why so?
