Exhausted, but not unhappy.
I was reasonably unhappy last night when I tried to get ready to meet my Income Tax Accountant, whom I learned was coming to town today, from Montreal. And I couldn't find my T4E form, and tried to get it online, and failed utterly - as I often do with bureaucratic websites. At midnight on a Sunday, you can't call them up to ask for help. I ended up staying up till 1 a.m. fighting with it, then gave up, worrying about my taxes. I'm a little paranoid on the subject anyway.
Today, it all worked out. I was able to phone the Employment Insurance people at lunchtime, and with a mere 20 minutes on hold, they were able to guide me through the labyrinth of the website to get the information I needed, and I ended up having everything my accountant needed - everything! - and we ended up having a nice dinner together at the Lindenhof, which has moved to Preston Street. It was the most delicious steak I have had in years. In celebration. Because now I don't have to panic over my tax forms for another 360-odd days.
