Friday...

Now I can say, with the rest of the working world, "Thank Goodness It's Friday" once more.

The first thing I had to do at work today, was buy a broom. I felt like Granny Weatherwax. It's a fine broom, and I used it to sweep the basement storeroom, which I am working at putting in order.

I spent most of the day in my office, but just before leaving, I had to do one last thing in the basement storeroom. I waiting for the elevator to go back up, and I waited, and I did a few stretching exercises, and wished I had my iPod, and it still didn't come. Then two people who work on my floor came down by the stairs, because they'd been waiting for it on the ground floor, and the indicator said it was still in the basement. The doors wouldn't open. So we had to walk all the way up, and pound on the stairwell door till someone let us in.

It was my job to report this to the building management. "They told us they'd fixed the elevators!" the woman wailed. "They just came this morning!"

No. Not fixed.

I read a Tone magazine at lunchtime - the local free magazine advertising New Age and esoteric stuff. I read it for tarot and yoga information. I thought it had disappeared, but no, there it was at Hartmann's Independent Grocery. There were Reiki practitioners advertising in it, which I'd been wondering about. Whimmishly.

In the evening, I visited [livejournal.com profile] maaseru in the hospital. She was doing well, so we went for a walk (it was her, me, and the walker) and has some supper in the cafeteria, and shopped in the gift shop there, which has all sorts of cool stuff. [livejournal.com profile] maaseru got me a nail files with face and body - she has a black cap, blonde hair, and a dress with buttons and a belt. I got a watch with expansion band and a face I can read more easily (without my glasses) than the one I'd been wearing.

Then we walked all the way to Tim Horton's in the Eye Institute, and she had coffee and an apple fritter. Then we went all the way back to her room, but in passing we'd seen some really nice large handbags at that store, one that totally suited her (with a bright red strawberry design), and one that suited me (a somewhat sedate Victorian sort of thing with palm trees on beige.) Back in room, we talked it over, and decided that we'd get them for each other for Easter presents. So I bought the strawberry one, she bough the palm trees, and we formally gave them to each other.

It was handy, too. I bought groceries on the way home, and used the bag.

This excited me: an interview with Matt Smith about the upcoming Doctor Who season four.

I was less sure what to make of this clip from Vampires in Venice but it was nice to see the Eleventh doctor in action, as it were.

I find that I love his voice. But then, I love Christopher Eccleston's voice, and David Tennant's. Do they cast for good voices? Presumably they do!

I thought there was something almost identifiably Steven-Moffat-like in the writing here, particularly..." )

I feel very happy about this.
