Does anyone know where I could find a Supernatural icon that shows Sam, Dean, Bobby or Castiel with a book?

I got a twitter account under the name of fajrdrako. But I don't seem to be able to use it with my mobile - what's with that? It seems to be related to the kind of mobile account I have. So what kind of accounts allow twitter access in Canada?

The ten best lines in Supernatural:
  1. Sam: You built a panic room?? Bobby: I had a weekend off.
--- Sam and Bobby in "Are You There, God? It's Me, Dean Winchester"

  2. Monsters are real. Dad fights them. He's fighting them right now.
--- Young Dean in "A Very Supernatural Christmas"

  3. A bunch of obsessed, revenge driven sociopaths trying to save a world that can’t be saved?
--- Bela in "Bad Day at Black Rock".

  4. She was a yoga teacher. That was the bendiest weekend of my life!
--- Dean in "The Kids are Alright"

  5. Your rewards will be unimaginable. Peace, happiness, two virgins and 70 sluts...
--- Zachariah to Dean in "Lucifer Rising"

  6. I'm not here to perch on your shoulder. We had larger concerns.
--- Castiel in "Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester".

  7. Look, all I know is I was not groped by an angel.
--- Sam, in "Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester"

  8. Dude, you're confusing reality with porn again.
--- Sam (to Dean, of course) in "Heaven and Hell"

  9. God has left the building.
    --- Zachariah in "Lucifer Rising"

  10. It was I who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition.
    --- Castiel in "Lazarus Rising"

Interesting article. It's the first one on this subject in a long while that fits the reality I see around me. I think the world needs fixing - needs a lot of fixing, in fact - and that the conventional thinking I hear talking about ways to combat it is both inadequate and beside the point. They don't even talk about the real solutions: find a substitute for motor vehicles and reduce population growth.

And if we don't do it, the planet will do it for us.

fajrdrako: ([Comics])

I'd never read a comic by Brian Reed, though I've been seeing his name, and wondering. Read one yesterday. Secret Invasion: Front Line.

I wasn't sure what to expect, though I've been filling in the gaps of the past couple of years in the ongoing Marvel storylines. I knew about the Skrull invasion, but had only seen the introduction to it. It was intriguing. I've always liked Skrulls -if only because the comic that made me a lifelong fan was Fantastic Four #18, "Return of the Super-Skrull". Shapechangers. I like shapechangers. Skrulls are possibly my favourite Marvel aliens.

This story compiles the five issues of Secret Invasion: Front Line, which is a Ben Urich story. Do you know about Ben Urich? One of my favourite Marvel characters. A hero - though he wouldn't say so - but not a superhero. He's a creation of Frank Miller in Daredevil, a reporter with a conscience, who occasionally has to make some terrible decisions. Another progagonist in a trench coat.

This story follows Ben Urich on the day the Skrulls attacked Avengers HQ. It's the story of a man and his daughter caught on the top floors of a high building; of a bunch of street thugs who shoot a taxi driver; of the difficulty of a crisis when phone lines, television and radio are silenced and people fear for their lives. It's also about Ben Urich, his career, his marriage, and the decisions he makes.

It was a good story. A thoughtful and interesting story. Not really an exciting story, though it certainly had scary moments. It reminded me of Marvels.

I'm off to the library now, to get more comics I've missed. And maybe see what else they have by Brian Reed.

The close countdown to the new season of Supernatural has started. I am making tea. [livejorunal.com profile] explodedteabag is ensconced on my sofa. We are making fun of The Vampire Diaries and hoping for a Supernatural commercial.

Bring it on!

Fifth season has begun. Lots and lots of surprises - all of them good, as far as I'm concerned. ExpandAnd good but ominous things happening... )
