Torchwood: world of wonders...
Jul. 25th, 2009 12:57 amWandering by someone's comments about Torchwood in someone else's zine, I noticed a fan saying they didn't like Russell T Davies' writing because he lacked a sense of wonder. This made me stop and think. Caught me up short, actually. Surprised.
I think he has an incredible sense of wonder. I think it shines through most of his stories. It's one of the things I like about his writing.
Funny how we can watch the same things, and get such different reactions to it.
At a meeting of a science fiction club once, we were talking about our favourite books, and everyone except me was saying that they got the greatest sense of wonder from science fiction. I get the greatest sense of wonder from history. This isn't a right/wrong dichotomy, it's... different perceptions.
