A good day. A very busy day.
This afternoon, I went to a
Michael Bourada magic show at the Ottawa Little Theatre with Beulah and Lyn. It's the first time I've ever seen the auditorium fill of kids; that was fun. We all enjoyed the show.
After work, I found and wrapped
maaboroshi's birthday presents - great luck with one of them: I'd ordered her the Terry Pratchett 2009 calendar, and it arrived this afternoon, just in time. Then I went with her and
maaseru went to the Lone Star for a birthday dinner. Had their Rib Eye Steak; it was incredibly good.
maaboroshi opened her presents and we avoided the Birthday Song.
Then we went back to
maaseru's place and watched two episodes of
Merlin: "The Labyrinth of Gedref" and "To Kill the King". I particularly liked the maze and the ocean in "Labyrinth", and the whole climax; and "To Kill the King" made me more of an Uther Pendragon fan than ever. Okay, Anthony Head has something to do with that.
I'd thought that was the end of the series, but I hear there's a thirteenth episode. Great - more to come!
Another piece of good news was finding the next three
Torchwood novels advertized in
Preview magazine. I am a happy fan - especially since my DVD of
Torchwood series 2 arrived from Amazon today.
