From [livejournal.com profile] fannish5: What were your five favorite things about your fandom(s) in 2007?"

1. Torchwood. The episode "Captain Jack Harkness". All of it. The dance, the kiss, the script, the theme, the evocation of 1941. Best romance short story I've seen on television, and a fitting example of what Torchwood can be at its best.

2. John Barrowman. Yes, we all know I'm a fan. But besides being a fan of Captain Jack Harkness (which is first and foremost), I have been impressed by Barrowman's character and output. It was fun watching him on Any Dream Will Do and the various interview and game shows he has done, from the sublime to the (very) ridiculous. Including the Pride Day festivities and his public kissing of Scott - making a point. I've enjoyed his interviews and the articles about him. He never disappoints and he frequently impresses.

3. Doctor Who: Martha Jones. She was wonderful: Just what I want to see in a heroine. Smart, resourceful, brave, beautiful, and with witty dialogue. I was disapointed that the Doctor treated her as he did, but she delighted me every moment she was on screen.

4. Doctor Who: The episode "Blink", which was such fun, and scary, and did interesting things with the concepts of time. The kinds of things that most time-travel TV shows don't do, but should.

5. Third Man Out and Shock to the System. Donald and Timmy. The discovering of a bright new slash fandom to play with - books and movies alike.
