It's a winter wonderland out there. Really.. I don't know what Eastern Ontario did to the weather gods, but we haven't seen this much snow all winter. Yes, winter. I know the calendar says "April". April is the cruellest month. Snow and more snow.

When I woke up, the branches of the trees were all covered with fluffy thick snow; and the ground; and the roads. There were no sidewalks.

By the time I was walking to the bus stop, the snow in the trees was melting, and it was windy, so every time the wind blew I got big gobs of icy wet snow landing on my head.

Add insult to injury, it was raining hard by that time, but the snow wasn't being washed away, just getting heavy and slushy and slippery. I didn't get wet because it was raining, I got wet because I was splashed by all the cars going by. Luckily, I could put my clothes in the washer and dryer when I got to work.

It's April. I want to fantasize about spring. I want to put away my winter boots and coat. I want to be able to walk to work.

Adding insult to injury, [livejournal.com profile] damalan tells me it's warm and nice in England - hot, even - which just proves that the Europeans are sucking all the warm air away from Canada for their own nefarious purposes.

Grump.
