I got the Friday Five from [livejournal.com profile] monsieureden this time:

1) What was the last thing that you ate? Liverwurst and rice crackers, followed by beef soup, for lunch.

2) Who was the last person you shared a meal with? On Wednesday my friend Joel and I got take-out vegetarian food from The Green Door and ate it at my place.

3) What is your favorite all time dish (recipes welcome)? This is almost unanswerable. Well, I'll take a stab... moussaka - but it has to be moussaka made with lamb, not beef. I'll eat it if it's made with beef, no problem, but the beef dish is no longer a favourite - I much prefer it with lamb.

4) If you could eat one thing for an entire year, what would it be? Popcorn with butter. But I'd rather have variety.

5) If you could have dinner with any five people (dead or alive) who would they be? I can think of many sets of five people I'd like to eat with. On a whim, given my TV-viewing habits of this past week, let me choose Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper, Owen Harper, Toshiko Sato, and Ianto Jones. The food would have to be Chinese, though pizza would be a possibility. No Weevils would be present.

...Unless I was doing a Veronica Mars set of guests - in which case I'd choose Veronica and Keith Mars, Logan Echolls, Weevil, and Wallace's mother.

Alternately: Mal Reynolds, Inara, Zoe and Wash, and Kaylee. Seems unfair to leave out the others, though, and I don't want reconstituted protein.

Alternately: Francis Crawford of Lymond, Philippa Somerville, Kate Somerville, Sybilla Crawford and Danny Hislop.

You want people who really lived? Richard the Lionheart, Guy and Aimery de Lusignan, Sybilla Plantagenet and her sister Isabella Plantagenet. I'd like to include Conrad de Montferrat but that might be politically awkward, under the circumstances. He can be in that other dinner party the next night... and Isabella can come to both dinners.

Don't tempt me, I could go on and on with this one.

I was reading [livejournal.com profile] boji's interesting comments on Captain Jack Harkness, referencing the writing of George Lucas and Christopher Vogler. The item is here, if you're interested.

It got me thinking. Spoilers will follow... )

I got this from [livejournal.com profile] tudorpot. The result I really wanted was Anne Elliot, who was not one of the choices. Too bad!

I suspect this result is not surprising to anyone.

You scored as Elizabeth Bennet. As one of Austen's most beloved characters, Elizabeth Bennet represents what most women would like to become: strong, independent, and loyal. Of course, she has her faults including a stubborn will of iron and a clinging to first impressions. Overall, Lizzie is bright and lovable...something to admire and aspire to.
