I got this from one of my mailing lists today: What SF crew do you belong in/on?" This time, I got the right answer! ( You can't take the sky from me... )

Must be because I answered every quiz question I could in true anarchist fashion. And it's so very much the right answer: freedom is everything. Most of the options (Stargate, Babylon 5, Star Trek, etc.) are too militaristic and/or too conformist, or both. X-Files is neither, but can you see me in a suit doing the FBI thing? I don't think so! And much as I'd like to live in the wake of Starbuck or Lee Adama, no, it's the life on Serenity that would really appeal.

I have a fondness for Oxford. Maybe because Percy Bysshe Shelley went there. So why not have a corresponding fondness for Cambridge, because Lord Byron went there? Well... if it's a choice, Shelley comes first. Or Maybe it's because I read Towers in the Mist by Elizabeth Goudge at an impressionable age. Maybe it's John Thaw as Inspector Morse. Or maybe it's because I visited Oxford before I ever saw Cambridge... beautiful though Cambridge is.

At heart, I'm an Oxford girl, though I've never as much as taken a class there. It has to do with my romantic imagination.

The quiz had stuff I never heard of. What is pashmina? What are iPod socks? It's time to do some research on the matter. I won't worry about "oligonucleotides".
