Pizza and TV...

maaboroshi had wanted to bring over an anime DVD for us to watch before Smallville; my lack of enthusiasm discouraged her and she didn't do it, and I felt guilty. I was graceless, and I might have enjoyed it.

Instead, we watched the first episode of Carnivale again and I noticed many things I'd forgotten or failed to understand the first time through. Such as that it was Ruthie (not the Management) who wanted Ben Hawkins to join the Carnivale, though Management told Samson he was expected. And that Lodz not only saw Scudder in Hawkins' dream, but named him aloud.

We ordered pizza. They very very busy and it too over an hour for the pizza to arrive - I guess half the city wanted to eat pizza and watch Smallville tonight. When the pizza finally came, they'd brought the wrong pizza - messed up the order - and lmondegreen couldn't eat the ones they brought. So they brought another pizza that she could eat, and we got an extra pizza for free. That was okay. I tried oregon_katy's recipe for banana pudding and it was deslish - but by that time I'd had too much pizza and didn't eat much of it. (Breakfast?)

Then we watched Smallville. There were individual parts and scenes that I loved - why am I left feeling something less than excited by it? Quite possibly because of Clark's refusal to forgive Lex, which I find disappointing. I thought the scenes between Lex and Lionel were (as usual) stunning. In fact all Lex's scenes were stunning - but I wanted more of them. Lana looked as if she'd walked out of the wrong movie. It was wonderful to see Chloe again. I liked seeing Jonathan and Martha defending Lex. Listen to them, Clark!

maaboroshi tried to tape Lost while Smallville was on, but didn't get it, so I'll have to watch it tomorrow.
