Aching and tired, for some reason. [livejournal.com profile] maaseru and [livejournal.com profile] maaboroshi came down for breakfast and we had fruit smooties, French toast, and coffee. I had to go to the corner store for bread and was interested to see that the Chinese proprietor was eating noodles for breakfast. I never think of eating noodles for breakfast; what a good idea.

We watched a terribly tacky programme on TV about the gaudy ostentatiousness of the rich.

I went for a walk, intending vaguely to buy mascara, then deciding I didn't want it that much anyway. Then ,lj user="maaberoshi"'s budgie Mr. T got his cage door open while one the balcony and flew off; I took my guys back up, hoping that the combined chirps would lure him back.

Next... Mrs. Leech[s 100th birthday party. What do you give a person who is 100? Flowers? A card? I can't think what else.

It's the second 100th birthday party I've ever been to. For the first, I was about ten... it was my great-great aunt, Aunty Garner. I remember her well, though she lived in Toronto and I only met her (as far as I can recall) that one time. A lovely woman. She must have been born about 1860. I find that amazing. History is so close to us.
