Tonight I discussed with two friends the things we feel passionate about. It was a very liberating, optimistic sort of conversation. I can see the path so clearly - why can't I follow it?

I went to the doctor today. The good news is that I'm just about the lowest risk possible for a heart attack. The bad news is that I have tendonitis in my left achilles heel, which is why I was limping. Ugh. Treatment: Ice, Advil, Elevation. And inserts in the heels of my shoes. When I went to work, on the doctor's advice I wore sandals with heels - they've been languishing unworn in my locker for several years. No one in the office recognized my footsteps. None of them had any idea I even owned shoes with heels. Hah! Fooled them.

Mind you, although wearing them is a relief to my poor sore heel, I teeter around and feel as if I'm going to fall off the stilts. Will I get used to them any time soon?
