Andy Williams....
Nov. 24th, 2003 12:19 amThe A&E Biography program tonight was on Andy Williams. He happens to be one of my favourite male singers, so I watched it. I didn't know much about his life, and found it interesting if only for its normality. I think of singers (especially Hollywood singers) as wild people who live on the edge. He seems to have been very like his music: calm, loving, kind, good.
It's almost hard to believe, but I believe it.
A special treat: seeing him with John Lennon. He looked so young. Andy Williams himself has aged well, and reminds me of one of my uncles.
My favourite female singer is Emma Shapplin, but as far as I know she hasn't produced a new album in a long time. I don't know how committed she is to music. It would be a pity if she stops singing.
