. . . This surprises me.

Snapdragons aren't favourites, and don't resonate in terms of personality. But I like the words it says: perhaps I will reconsider snapdragons.

I like the name too. It isn't far from a snapdragon to a fajrdrako.

Hidalgo

I just looked at the trailer for "Hidalgo" at Hidalgo and I was actually disappointed it. It looks trite, predictable, anachronistic and generally unimpressive.

But it's Viggo Mortensen.

Maybe it put me off because they keep saying with the title "Based on a true story", which I find annoying. It's like hedging its bets between history and fiction without being one or the other. It also implies the story has nothing else to recommend it - would you hear them advertise "Shakespeare's 'Henry V' - based on a true story"? I don't think so.

But it's Viggo Mortensen, and I like the idea of Arabian desert tales.

What really put me off, I think, is that the trailer made me think of "Indiana Jones". Nothing against Indiana Jones, of course, but I don't want another version of that movie.

If it has a sexy Arabian prince in the story, I might reconsider my snap judgement.

TV's sexiest man...

I don't know why I do these things.

For one thing, this particular site has Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum in competition for sexiest men. I don't think that's quite right. They are a matched contrasting set, yin and yang, sun and moon, shade and sunlight.

For another, I know damn well that Michael Rosenbaum is the sexiest man on TV whether anyone tells me that or not. Whatever the results of the poll are.

The good thing is, I can look up the other cute men listed just for the fun of it. And probably be disappointed by them.

Ack! Ptooi!

Okay, telling myself I wasn't going to do any more of these silly things today, I went to Who is your Buffy Boyfriend? and I should have known better. I saw it on kelex's page, but that's no excuse. I have no one to blame but myself.

The result was my least favourite character in all of Buffy canon, maybe in all of television - well, excepting Lana Lang. I think. No, actually, I think I prefer Lana.

I was gypped. It wasn't who I wanted at all. (sulk)

I was better off with Viggo Mortensen and his ugly horse.
