Smallville: Whisper....

I'm fighting off a cold. Or maybe actually have one. Feel crummy. I'm going to bed.
But first: gotta mention tonight's Smallville episode, Whisper.
Loved it. Loved the way Clark looked. Loved the way Lex looked. Particularly loved the scenes between Lionel and Chloe, and oh my goodness, Lionel looked so sexy pacing his office that he almost eclipsed his son for a few minutes in my passions.
A few specifics....
- Clark in his glasses. He's one of those men who look particularly gorgeous in glasses. Oh my goodness yes.
- I love the way Chloe was set up. She didn't say anything to Lex or Clark; Clark meant well in telling Lex what she said and he didn't reveal his source; Lex said nothing to Lionel that would incriminate Clark, and yet the inevitable result was Lionel's attack on Chloe and Gabe. I loved all of that.
- For some reason, when Lana and Clark fight I think it's hokey and dopey and annoying. When Chloe and Clark fight I love it. In this episode particularly. Clark does anger well.
- It could have been slashier. Of course my imagination supplies the slash anyway, but what, no Clark/Lex embraces? More adoring stares, please. At least Lex came to the barn again.
- I actually liked the Lana scenes. Not as much as the other scenes, but I don't mind Lana when she's breaking up with Clark. (And the sobs at the end? That wasn't Lana, that was Chloe. Or so I prefer to maintain.)
- Pete Ross is as spiritually dull as ever but his mother is terrific. And gorgeous! I think I have a crush on Pete's mother. I had no idea.
- I liked the scene in the barn where Clark is trying to focus his hearing and becoming frustrated, and Jonathan is whispering amongst all the noise. Lovely scene.
- I'm still irked with Martha for championing Lana last week in Asylum nothing so annoying in this episode.
- I was hoping another superpower would crop up soon. It's been a while since the last one - heat vision, I think? Telescopic vision ought to be next.
- I liked the supervillain with the power of Banshee. In fact, I liked the whole opening scene in the jewellry store, with the necklace with the green Kryptonite gem and Clark trying to act cool about it. I also liked it that the thing Martha had tried on was more than a thousand dollars! Lionel could buy it for her. (Picture me with a devilish grin at the thought.)
I said more than I thought I would. Off to bed, hoping to feel okay in the morning.
