Casino Royale

This evening, in anticipation of Skyfall, we watched Casino Royale again.

I remembered that I'd loved it, but I hadn't remembered what a good movie it was. The parkour scene itself delights me; but the story is good, Eva Green is marvellous, the villains are good, the romance is lovely... yeah. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it again.

Especially Daniel Craig. Lovely man.

Really excited about Skyfall now.

I'm looking forward to Skyfall, despite having skipped Quantum of Solace. Did you see that one?

I saw Quantum of Solace, and I hope to see it again this week before going to Skyfall. We would have watched it last night, but didn't have time, because Casino Royale is long.

I loved Quantum of Solace because of Daniel Craig. The story wasn't as good, but I thought it was still better than most of the preceding Bond movies.

I love the title, too.

I've heard nothing but raves for Skyfall, so I'm really looking forward to it. I love Casino Royale, and it still stands as one of my all-time fave Bond movies.

That isn't really saying a whole lot. *g* Still, I just requested it from my library. I hope I get to see it before I see Skyfall on Friday. Not that there's any continuity to these things.

Not a big Bond fan? Well, I hated the Roger Moore Bond, and my mother wouldn't let me see the Sean Connery movies; but I've enjoyed most of the others very much. I think the spy genre fared badly by the mid-sixties when it started to be mined for comedy, but it's a genre I'm happy to see revived, with overlap with the action genre.

There was continuity between "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace", so they may be continuity with "Skyfall" too. Or just implied continuity.

No, I like Bond, but I don't love him, and I thought most of the Pierce Brosnon movies were pretty silly. I don't think I ever watched a Roger Moore Bond movie all the way through. I liked Connery, despite all the 60s sexism. In a bizarre way, that was almost part of their charm. And I really like Daniel Craig. I thought Casino Royale was really well done, though for some reason I haven't watched it since it was in the theaters.

I must say that I don't remember the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies very well. I liked them well enough - but he didn't make much of an impression. I liked the one that featured Robert Carlyle.

I should make a point of watching the Sean Connery movies sometime.
