I subscribe to the Word-a-Day list and quite enjoy it - partly because it gives the history of words, partly because it sometimes uses words I don't know. Today's word was one I didn't know, nor did I know of the object it refers to, and I'm charmed by the existence of such a thing:

    cadogan (kuh-DUG-uhn) noun

A lidless teapot, inspired by Chinese wine pots, that is filled from the bottom.

And they give us links for pictures of this strange thing:

I never saw such a thing (not knowingly) but I am charmed by the idea. Apparently it has a funnel inside so you can pour the water in - but how do you put in the tea?

I would have to guess that you don't, but instead that you use the cadogan to heat the water only. That way, you can brew the tea in the cup by use of an infuser, strainer, or tea ball.

I'm thinking that if you ever did get tea leaves into the cadogan, you'd never get them all out again...

I wonder! I'd like to find more information on these things. They can't be very common.
