The cadogan....
Jan. 6th, 2004 04:31 pmI subscribe to the Word-a-Day list and quite enjoy it - partly because it gives the history of words, partly because it sometimes uses words I don't know. Today's word was one I didn't know, nor did I know of the object it refers to, and I'm charmed by the existence of such a thing:
cadogan (kuh-DUG-uhn) noun
A lidless teapot, inspired by Chinese wine pots, that is filled from the bottom.

I never saw such a thing (not knowingly) but I am charmed by the idea. Apparently it has a funnel inside so you can pour the water in - but how do you put in the tea?
